Our Mission
We are a family-run non-profit organization devoted to improving the human experience through interaction with animals.
Our mission is to enrich and bless the lives of others, particularly individuals with special needs, through various learning and therapeutic activities that take advantage of the natural bond that develops between animals and humans.
This endeavor has been nearly 50 years in the making, and is the singular dream of our President and founder. To read more about the Tiny Works story, click the button below.
Our Services
At Tiny Works, our passion is our animals. We understand and appreciate the value of interacting with animals, and the healing such interaction can promote. In the coming months, we will begin offering the following services:
Animal-Assisted Interaction and Play
Interacting with animals during play and other activities has been proven therapeutic and beneficial on multiple levels. Our approach is a unique contribution to the animal-assisted interaction research community, as we introduce the use of miniature farm animals as activity partners and aids. We are currently working with education and special education professionals to begin providing these services specifically for children and adults with special needs.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Equine and other animal-based therapy practices have long been a proven and successful medium for supplementing mental health treatment for individuals suffering from the effects of trauma, PTSD, terminal or severe illness, as well as neurological and spectrum disorders such as autism. We are expanding this research area through the use of miniature farm animals as therapy aids, and we are currently working with mental health and education professionals to begin offering these services to the public.
Animal Rescue and Fostering
All lives are precious, and our animal friends are no exception. We plan to add rescue services for animals that have been abused, neglected, or otherwise endangered into our future service offerings. We will be working with veterinarians and technicians, behavioral specialists, and trainers to provide the best possible care for these special creatures. To facilitate re-homing, we will work with our local communities to provide fostering opportunities with loving foster parents so our rescue animals may learn to trust and enjoy human companionship and love.
